בדומה לצמח הקנאביס, גם גוף האדם מייצר חומרים דמויי קאנבינואידים המכונים ” Endo-Cannabinoids ” (קנאבואידים בגוף). כך לדוגמה: אנאנדמיד (Anandamide) אשר התגלה על-ידי פרופ’ משולם, שהנו רכיב בעל תפקיד חשוב להתפתחות העובר במהלך ההיריון.
