השר הבטחון הפנים אוחנה פנה לבג”ץ והגיש את עמדתו במסגרת עמדת המדינה בבגץ בנושא קנאביס! . “עמדת השר לביטחון הפנים הנכנס היא כי יש לבחון מחדש את הוראת השעה במטרה לצמצם ככל הניתן פגיעה באזרחים נורמטיביים שיוחסו להם עבירות הקשורות בסם הקנאביס. בכוונת השר לביטחון הפנים למנות צוות שיבחן אפשרות להמלצה על מדיניות מקלה ברוח דברים אלה”.

העתירה הוגשה בסיוע של כ-3,000 תורמים ומהותה הדרישה לקבוע כי הפללת שימוש עצמי בקנאביס היא ענישה לא מידתית ויש לבטלה.
